The Western Australian Centre for Health Promotion
Research activities are primarily divided between four areas:
Research
The WACHPR research team has expertise in the development, implementation
and evaluation of formative and longitudinal intervention research
in key areas such as: injury control; drug use; mental health; child
health; seniors; physical activity; and sports injury prevention.
The research team primarily conducts:

Formative research to explore
the factors that influence health-related issues and to inform
longitudinal research projects. |

Intervention research to develop
and evaluate promising evidence-based interventions designed
to enhance health-promoting behaviours. |

Dissemination and implementation research
to assess the impact of efforts to help key target groups. |

Program evaluation to assess
and improve the impact of health promoting programs, environments
and policies. |
The combined expertise of the WACHPR staff, together with the establishment
of collaborative networks, aims to foster the practice of health
promotion by encompassing the nexus between research and practice.
